Camilla Smith is the founder of Accent Pro Institute, which has been providing strategic accent and pronunciation training and coaching services since 2007. The company delivers language training to multinational corporations, small businesses, workshop attendees, groups and individuals, and has assisted people of varied backgrounds: actors, students, lawyers, broadcasters, executives, all with their unique objectives needs and styles.
Camilla Smith has been involved in the education industry for 12 years. She has taught essay writing, Business English & Etiquette, North American business culture, TOEIC and TOEFL preparation, conversation, public speaking, and nearly all aspects of English language acquisition.
She is native English-speaking, fluent in American Sign Language, conversational in yet two more, and is undertaking Mandarin. She has put to use her greetings in over 30 different languages while teaching in or touring 25 countries in North America, Africa, Latin America, Europe, and South East Asia.
In addition to keeping herself current in language pedagogy, in particular accent reduction and pronunciation coaching, Camilla has earned her American Accent Instructor Training certificate as well as Teaching English as a Foreign Language and Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages certificates in Vancouver, BC. She has completed her Bachelor's degree in Linguistics and is currently completing her Master's of the same major. She is a member of the International Association of Teachers of English as a Foreign Language (IATEFL) with a Special Interest Group (SIG) in pronunciation.
